Your event ticket will allow any guests (if accompanied by a GWR pass holder) to travel on GWR services from any station to Bristol Temple Meads. For details on train times please visit

Please Note – colleagues travelling in from the West by train: engineering works are taking place on Saturday 28 September (see here for details), meaning that GWR services (from Devon/Cornwall) can only be used via Westbury (changing at this station). By Bus
At Bristol Temple Meads special GWR guest only First Bus shuttle buses will be making regular trips to and from Bristol Zoo between the following times:

Morning – going to the zoo
0930 – 1200

Afternoon – returning from the zoo
1400 – 1700

As well as this, the regular Number 8 bus which departs from Bristol Temple Meads every 10 minutes will also be accepting your Great Day Out tickets. You must show your GWR ID.

By Car
If you are planning on travelling by car there are 2 car parks available at the zoo and there is a £4 charge (cash only).

On-street parking is also available on surrounding streets, a short walk from the entrance of the zoo. These streets are within a residents parking scheme area.

Charges only apply Monday – Friday, between 0900 and 1730, and parking is free in the evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

At Junction 18 of the M5, exit toward A4/A403/ Bristol/Avonmouth/Docks. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Portway/A4 heading to City Centre/Bristol/A38. Sharp left onto Portway/A4176 (Bridge Valley Road). Continue to follow A4176. Bristol Zoo is located on your right-hand side at the top of Bridge Valley Road.
